Novel Design + Build was formerly Fargo Home Company (FHC). Same company. This policy applies to information collected under either name.

WHAT WE COLLECT
What you give us. Our contact page carries a form hosted by Dubsado, a third-party client-management platform. When you submit it, we receive what you entered — your name, your contact details, and whatever you choose to tell us about your project: the kind of home you're considering, your timeline, your questions.
If you call or email us, we keep what you send.
What we collect automatically. We use analytics and measurement tools to understand how the site is used — currently Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. These record pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and time on page, using cookies and similar identifiers.
We may add or change which tools we use. The kinds of information described above are what they collect.
We do not use advertising pixels or conversion tags on this site. Nothing here sends your visit to an ad platform, and we do not share site data for targeted advertising.
Hosting. The site runs on Showit, whose servers process ordinary web-server logs.
What we don't collect here. We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government ID numbers through this website. Financial information for a home purchase is handled outside the website, with your lender and in documents exchanged directly with us.

Contacting us does not sign you up for anything. Submitting the contact form gets you a reply from a person at Novel. It does not add you to a mailing list.

Service providers working for us — Showit (hosting), Dubsado (forms and client records), Google (analytics), Google Workspace (email and files)
Professional advisors — accountant, attorney, insurers, as needed
Trade partners and vendors on your build, once you are a client and they need the information to build your home
Anyone you ask us to — your lender, your realtor
Authorities, where the law requires it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

IF YOU'RE WORKING WITH A REALTOR
If a realtor brought you to us, or is representing you, we'll share information about your inquiry and your build with them, because that is what allows them to represent you.
Tell us if you would rather we didn't, and we'll stop.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Inquiries that don't become projects: 24 months, then deleted
Client and build records: for the life of the project, and afterward for the periods required by North Dakota law governing construction and warranty claims, and by tax and accounting requirements
Analytics: 2 months, as set in our Google Analytics account

SECURITY
We use ordinary commercial safeguards: access controls on our accounts, reputable vendors, and limits on who inside Novel sees what. No website is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee information sent over the internet is never intercepted.

CHILDREN
This website is for adults. We don't direct it to children and don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@buildwithnovel.com and we'll delete it.

YOUR CHOICES
Wherever you live, you can:
Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy
Ask us to correct it
Ask us to delete it, where we're not required to keep it
Opt out of marketing at any time
Turn off analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie controls
Email info@buildwithnovel.com or write to the address in Section 1. We respond within 45 days and won't treat you worse for asking.
We extend these choices to everyone, in every state, whether or not a particular law requires it of us. Novel is a small company and below the size thresholds that trigger the state consumer privacy statutes now in force, including Minnesota's. We'd rather answer the request than argue about whether we have to.

DO NOT TRACK
There is no common standard for responding to browser "Do Not Track" signals, and our site does not respond to them. Use the controls in Section 10 instead.

OTHER SITES
We link to city websites, shelters, the pet election, and social media. Those aren't ours and their privacy practices are their own.

A new version gets posted here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll say so rather than quietly reposting.
